After its separation from the International Conference of Orientalists in Paris in 1973, the International Congress of Egyptologists (ICE) was held at intervals of three and four years, respectively.
The 13th International Congress of Egyptologists will take place in Leiden (6-12 August 2023).
Leiden has been home to Egyptology since 1818 when the first large collection of Egyptian antiquities entered the Rijksmuseum van Oudheden. The 13th ICE is made jointly by the Leiden University Department of Egyptology, the Rijksmuseum van Oudheden (RMO), the Nederlands Instituut voor het Nabije Oosten (NINO) and the Papyrologisch Instituut, Leiden.
To present at the International Congress of Egyptologists it is obligatory to be a member of the IAE. If you are not a member yet, you can join here.
