How did the Ptolemies live in Egypt? What religion did they maintain, what kind of politics did they pursue, and how did their highly developed administration function at that time? The scientists who deal with the inscriptions of the Temple of Edfu, translate them, comment on them and digitize the extensive data stock deal with these key questions. The project has been part of the research projects of the Göttingen Academy of Sciences since 2002, previously it was funded and supported by the German Research Foundation.
